Aiden was inspired to become an Eagle Scout by his second cousin, "Uncle" Tim when he attended Tim Voigt's Captain pinning ceremony at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Tim is an Eagle Scout and Air Force Officer.
Philmont and Northern Tier
Scouting America offers advanced high adventure experiences for Scouts to hone their outdoor skills, grit, resilience, and leadership. Aiden participated in Mushing Camp, earning Duty to God and Zero Hero recognition. To support his Philmont Crew he trained in National Outdoor Wilderness Readiness and First Aid.

Gallery: Eagle Scout Projects
Eagle projects demonstrate leadership while providing lasting community impact. Granby Elementary is home to the Granby Elementary Gators. Coach Armstrong believes that "Strong Spokes Support the Wheel" and gives back to these youth and his physical education students with energy and vigor. Aiden removed failing racks, created a new design, and nearly tripled the storage capacity in the room for striders and mountain bikes. Recognition is due to Mr. Benham for his design support.
Planning
Aiden scheduled multiple meetings with Coach Armstrong and Mr. Benham to identify needs to create a plan, while researching past projects learning design requirements.
Leadership
With support, Aiden raised all the funds for the project, coordinated volunteers, led the day, and kept a vigilant focus on safety for all volunteers and the beneficiary.
Execution
Over a Saturday and Sunday, the entire project was completed within 1 hour of planned timing, including demolition, haul-away, and clean up.

Eagle Project
Plan, develop, and lead the removal and installation of a bike storage system for Granby Elementary and fill in other tasks as needed for the climbing course.
Board of Review
Mr. Speed* served as Aiden's Eagle Scout Advisor for the Simon Kenton Council. Final interview process evaluating the Scout's journey. Aiden was unofficially announced as Troop 200's #187 Eagle Scout, then 10th in 2025.
The Eagle rank demands perseverance. Most complete the requirements between ages 16-18 after years of dedicated effort.
*Mr. Speed has overseen 340 Eagle Scouts in his career. He retired after Aiden's BoR. We are immensely grateful for his years of dedication to the Simon Kenton Council and these Eagle Scouts.
